Pastor Horst was born in Berlin, Germany and emigrated to the United States in 1953. He became a citizen in 1967 and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1967-1971. He served on the national board of Public Broadcasting Manager's Association while in secular service and currently serves as Executive Director for In His Name Ministries, a church consulting group in communication, budgeting, reconciliation and leadership training.
